	Highlands College

	
	In 2022, Highlands College, a newly accredited Biblical school, opened the first set of dorms on their state-of-the-art campus. They approached us to create a cohesive design system to help students navigate their way around the building. We developed a visual system revolving around significant mountains throughout the Bible, this resulted in naming conventions, patterns and icons that reflected this approach across the five story facility.&#38;nbsp;

	When a lauded, Birmingham-based plastic surgeon creates a formula for a pre-surgical drink that helps his patients recover from surgery at lightspeed, he needs a partner to help bring that story to life.&#38;nbsp;
Our task was to fully develop that story, from the name and logo all the way down to the packaging and web presence. With the drinks unique characteristics, the branding needed to work across two distinctive fields—the medical field and sports industry. 	For over 25 years, PreSchool Partners has been providing a quality early education to families living in Birmingham. To celebrate this monumental occasion, PreSchool Partners approached Lewis for the simple ask of helping with the design of a brochure celebrating their accomplishment. What they received was a fully overhaul of their brand, creating not only a mark, but a visual system that will last well into the future.&#38;nbsp;
Through the process, we created refreshed logos, brand guides and a social media templating system so that they could maintain a cohesive visual voice across all of their many channels. The result is something fresh and fun that was received with utmost enthusiasm and excitement.

	Avenue A Mural

	
How do you use something old and forgotten to tell a new story? 


That’s the goal of street artists everywhere. To turn eyesores into eye candy. To reclaim the ordinary and make it extraordinary. 


It’s also the challenge H2 Real Estate faced near their Avenue A development in downtown Birmingham. As part of their ongoing urban revitalization effort, H2 worked with Lewis Communications to transform a nearby vacant warehouse into a collaborative canvas.


With that simple idea, H2 and Lewis hosted a mural contest, inviting members of the city’s vibrant artist community to contribute. After thoughtful consideration of more than 100 entries, the creative team selected four winning submissions. With the blessing of each winning artist, Lewis created a single design—spanning the two visible sides of the structure—by stitching together aspects of the winning pieces.
Muralist Andy Jordan was then commissioned to paint the final mural. The end result: one cohesive, dynamic and engaging ode to the Magic City that bears the mark of Birmingham’s rising talent.
